
A series of recent automobile break-ins and thefts in Barnesville led to the arrest of a Barnesville man on April 3, 2025.
The Barnesville Police Department received multiple calls yesterday morning regarding a man attempting to break into vehicles. The BPD Criminal Investigation Division began digging into the matter.

The investigation led to a search warrant at a home within the city limits. During the search, law enforcement recovered several stolen firearms connected to the recent theft cases.
As a result, 20-year-old Amyis Johnson of Barnesville was taken into custody. He is currently being held at the Lamar County Detention Center. Charges are pending as the investigation continues.
