Sydney Allen
Sydney Allen went to St. George Island with a large group of 18 vacationers. They spent the days on the beach with wind speeds up to 20 miles per hour and went to different restaurants every night. They enjoyed St. George Island’s quietness and the fact that the beach was not crowded. Sydney mentioned they enjoyed the food and time with friends. Pictured are Ashlyn and Bentley Turner and their sister, Davey.
Lee and Linda Shepard
Don’t freak out! They are just candy cigarettes! For the sake of nostalgia, Lee enjoyed a pack of candy cigarettes with his family. Lee, Linda, and the kids went to Scoops in Zebulon last week where they not only found the rare treat but also enjoyed some delicious ice cream.
Heather Stanley
Heather Stanley’s family embarked on an exciting journey across the United States for Hailey’s softball tournament, competing against some of the best 16U teams in the country. After one of Hailey’s tournaments in North Carolina, the family took an extra day to tour the magnificent Biltmore Estate.
Their next stop was a tournament in Florida, where they had the chance to canoe down the Santa Fe River. Their first stop was Mermaid Spring, followed by Blue Springs at Ruth B. Kirby Gilchrist Blue Springs State Park. Despite the cold waters, the experience was incredible.
The family’s adventure continued with a whirlwind tour from South Carolina to Florida, then to Kansas, Tennessee, Atlanta, and back to Florida within two weeks. In Kansas, although their time was limited, they managed to do some local sightseeing. They discovered an adorable Paris-themed coffee house called Chez Elle Crêperie and Coffeehouse, which offered the most delicious crepes they had ever tasted. They also visited Union Station in Kansas City, adding another memorable stop to their journey.
Overall, the Stanley family’s trip was filled with thrilling softball games, stunning sights, and unique experiences, making it an unforgettable adventure.
Audrey Topel
FBC Barnesville’s Thrive Young Adults recently spent a week on mission in New Orleans, Louisiana. Audrey Topel says the group spent their time serving the community of Algiers, going door to door with surveys to engage with local residents. They partnered with new church plants to canvas the area, giving the young adults the opportunity to share the gospel with community members.
Additionally, the team volunteered at a local community garden, where they provided sandwiches for the food pantry and worked in the garden. The week was filled with meaningful interactions and service projects, allowing the young adults to share the love of Jesus with the people of New Orleans.
Courtney Morrison
Hadley and Oakleigh Morrison enjoyed “Story Time with Elsa and Anna” hosted collaboratively by Buckalew’s on Main in Milner and Southern Belle Princess Parties.
A large crowd gathered on the restaurant lawn in Milner for the event, and many stayed afterward for a delicious barbecue lunch.
Lamar County teens, Bentley Vining, Harrison Banks, and Mason Loggins, won gold in their baseball tournament last weekend.
Rebecca Carter
Nick and Rebecca Carter took their children on a trip to Santa Cruz, California to see family. The kids have since gone to Griffin Cinemas to watch Inside Out 2 and enjoyed time in the water at High Falls Water Park.
