In a public statement, the Butts County Sheriff’s Office reported that an armed person was seen walking on the grounds of the Westbury Center of Jackson for Nursing and Healing, carrying “a pistol grip shotgun.” It was said that the suspect attempted to enter the nursing home facility with the weapon. The individual also tried to enter multiple vehicles parked on the premises.
The incident happened on January 1, 2025, around 2:00 AM. The nursing home is located at 922 McDonough Road in Jackson.
The Butts County Sheriff’s Office has asked the public for assistance in identifying the suspect.
The Butts County Sheriff’s Office said in an official social media post, “If you have any information on the identity of this subject and/or his location, you are asked to contact Captain Josh Pitts at (770) 468-9478 or Inv. Scott Crumley at (678) 967-9029. A reward of $1,000 is being offered for any information that successfully identifies this subject.”
