This honor is based on public data and a survey that evaluates student retention, graduation rates, job rates, and veteran services.

Ashley Travis, Gordon’s adult learner coordinator, said the recognition reflects the college’s core values. She explained, “We truly strive to create an environment where those who have served our country feel valued, supported, and empowered to achieve their educational goals.”

What does this look like on campus?

Gordon State’s Student Veteran and Adult Learner Association (SVAL) is a key part of providing for the needs of these specific people. The organization offers opportunities for students to interact with one another, leadership development opportunities, and access to academic and personal resources designed to help students succeed in and out of the classroom, particularly those students with military connections.
