Lamar County Primary School will have a new principal come the 2025-2026 school year.

The Lamar County Board of Education announced at a May 12 meeting that Mrs. Kimberly Oberg will be the next principal of Lamar County Primary School. She will begin her duties on July 1, 2025.

Mrs. Oberg earned her Specialist in Educational Leadership from Valdosta State University and holds a Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction.

Most recently, Mrs. Oberg has been assistant principal at Mountain View Elementary School in Meriwether County. Previously, she worked as a teacher and instructional coach.

Mrs. Oberg is married to Mike Oberg, a longtime teacher and coach at Lamar County High School. They live in Lamar County with their two children.
