The team will travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana for the USSSA World Series in two weeks.

First Game Against Bloomfield

In a close game against the Bloomfield All-Stars, the Lamar County 10U Allstars clinched a 9-8 victory. The game saw multiple lead changes, with Bloomfield initially scoring. However, Lamar County quickly responded, with key hits by Jaxon Sloan and Layton Selph driving in runs. Despite Bloomfield’s efforts to regain control, the game ended with a decisive win for Lamar County, thanks to key plays and dependable pitching from Dailan Evans and Kason Samples.

Second Game Against Bloomfield

Lamar County won over Bloomfield again with an 8-5 win this past Sunday. Lamar got on the board first after scoring a run on a wild pitch. Although Bloomfield took a brief lead in the second inning, Lamar County turned the game around in the bottom of the second by scoring seven runs on six hits, with a significant ground out by Blake Matthews driving in two runs. Jaxon Sloan earned the win, striking out three and walking two. Kason Samples, Colby Guthrie, Jaxon Sloan, Trevor Smallwood, Nate Griffis, and Dailan Evans each contributed offensively. The team’s aggressive base running resulted in 10 stolen bases for the game. Bases were stolen by Cohen Epperson, Blake Matthews, Nate Griffis, and Dailan Evans.

Win over Newton County

Lamar County showcased their skills with a commanding 12-4 win over Newton. The game started with Newton County taking an early lead, but Lamar County turned the tide in the third inning, scoring six runs and taking the lead. Stellar performances by Kason Samples, who earned the win, and Jaxon Sloan, who contributed significantly both on the mound and at bat, highlighted the team’s depth and talent.
