The Lamar County School System announced that it will close operations tomorrow, January 10, 2025, due to concerns regarding the pending freezing weather conditions. The announcement noted the decision was made out of concern that many will potentially not be able to travel safely, including students and staff.
“Our top priority is the safety and well-being of the students we serve in our community,” the official statement said.
Students and staff are currently expected to return on Monday, January 13, per the announcement.
