It’s playoff time at Aldora Field, and the LCHS softball team is ready to begin its playoff run today while school is out for Fall Break.

The 8 seed Lady Trojans (21-4) open the GHSA Class A Division 1 State Playoffs this afternoon at Aldora Field, hosting the 25 seed Dodge County Indians (12-11). The first pitch of the best-of-three series is set for today, with a possible Game 3 scheduled if the teams split the opening doubleheader.

Lamar County enters the postseason following a strong regular season that highlighted consistent hitting and pitching.

At the plate, Kylee Kington leads the way with an impressive .523 batting average, followed by Keelie Smallwood (.429), Bailey Gunter (.373), Ansleigh Humphries (.328), and Brayleigh Ziehme (.309). Lamar County has showcased offensive depth all season long.

In the circle, Dakota Crowley has been a reliable pitcher, posting a 2.724 ERA with 12 wins, 2 losses, and 1 save, along with 60 strikeouts. Kington has added 27 strikeouts with a 3.331 ERA, while Humphries has recorded 30 strikeouts and carries a 3.689 ERA on the season.

The winner of this opening round will advance to face the winner of the Thomasville and Fannin County series.

Game 1 will begin at 4:00 PM at Aldora Field.
