JONESBORO, Ga. — The Lamar County wrestling team finished in second place on Saturday, December 21 at the Tara Classic Invitational at Jonesboro High School. Despite dealing with multiple injuries, Coach Hunter Hardin praised his team’s response, especially some younger standouts. Out of 15 Trojans competing, 11 placed in the top four.
“I felt like we started to put six minutes of good wrestling together and get our leg attacks at a higher rate,” Coach Hardin said.
Coach Hardin highlighted the dominating performances by Jo’Quan Woodward and Makai Lasster, who finished at the top of their weight classes. He also mentioned that freshmen, Carson Howell and Robert Brooks have shown tremendous improvement throughout the season and finished second in Saturday’s tournament.
