Two Gordon State College softball players have been making noise this spring on the field.

Lauren Wilcher Breaks GSC Stolen Base Record

Lauren Wilcher (Barnesville, GA) has written her name into the Gordon record books by breaking the school’s single-season stolen base record. On Saturday against Andrew College, the freshman Wilcher stole her 42nd base of the season, breaking the previous record of 40 set by Melanie Bryant in 2001 and later tied by Dixie Stewart in 2010. Dixie Stewart’s career record of 51 is well within reach, and Wilcher is on pace to break that record, too. Lauren Wilcher graduated from Lamar County High School in 2024.
