No one is immune to these questions:
- How am I supposed to keep going?
- What’s the point of trying when nothing ever changes?
- Why does life feel heavy all the time?
- Is there anyone who understands what I’m going through?
- Does my life matter?
We don’t always ask them out loud, but these thoughts ache in our hearts during the hard days. When disappointment or anxiety find their way in, it’s easy to wonder if life is worth it.

If this describes your life right now, one truth can change everything for you today. Jesus is alive. Yes, the Lord of all creation—who paid our sin debt on the cross, rose from the grave, and now intercedes for you—is very much alive.
I love the way Bill and Gloria Gaither wrote this in their song, Because He Lives:
“Life is worth the living just because He lives.”
Some songs feel more like lifelines than lyrics. This song has long been one of my lifelines. It reminds me of the Apostle Peter’s words below.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead…
1 Peter 1:3 (ESV)
Peter wrote to believers who were suffering. They were scattered about and having a hard time hanging on. And in the opening portion of his letter, he reminded them of what still held everything together: Jesus is alive.
Those are not empty words. It is not wishful thinking. We are not guilty of hollow, aimless optimism. No, we have a hope that is alive!
Life is worth the living, not just because everything in your world makes sense.
Life is worth the living, not just because the sickness goes away.
Life is worth the living, not just because you are mentally and spiritually stable.
Life is worth the living because the same God that raised Jesus from the dead holds you today.
And if the tomb of Christ is still empty, then your life is full of meaning and purpose. Why? Because your Savior has gone before you and paved the way for your future salvation and your present enjoyment.
So wake up the next day. Get up and take the next step. Breathe the next breath. Live the next moment.
Not just because you feel like it.
But because Jesus is alive, and that singular truth contains more hope than a thousand other good things you could have heard today.

Blessed are you who find your future and present hope in the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
