Families looking for a fun and educational outing this weekend are invited to attend the Touch-A-Tractor Event on Saturday, July 18, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Legacy Environmental Site Solutions, 87 Legacy Park Drive in Barnesville.
Hosted by Legacy Environmental Site Solutions (LESS) and the LESS Compost Initiative, the event will give children the opportunity to get up close with heavy equipment, tractors, and other large machinery while learning how they are used in agriculture, construction, and environmental services.
Young visitors will have the chance to climb aboard equipment, take photos, and learn about yard waste recycling, concrete debris processing, mulch disposal, and other services that help keep communities clean and growing.
In addition to the equipment displays, families can enjoy a variety of activities and vendors, including a planting station, flower sales, compost and topsoil buckets, food trucks and concessions, and more. Educational demonstrations will be operating throughout the event, as well.
Organizers hope the Touch-A-Tractor Event will become a tradition that gives Lamar County’s children a memorable hands-on experience.
Admission is free. All minors must be accompanied by an adult, and all participants wishing to climb on equipment will be required to sign a waiver before doing so.
