Lamar County residents will have the opportunity to receive free trees during an Arbor Day Tree Giveaway scheduled for Friday, Feb. 20, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The event is sponsored by the Lamar County Soil and Water Conservation District and is made possible through support from NRCS and UGA Extension.
Trees will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, and quantities are limited.
Each tree will come with a planting guide, and recipients are encouraged to plant their trees as soon as possible to ensure the best chance of survival.
To make participation convenient, trees will be available at three locations in Barnesville:
- Farm Supply, 100 Louis Dr.
- Country Oaks, 659 Veterans Parkway
- NRCS Office, 231 U.S. 41
