Dog Tales of Barnesville: Part 2
National Dog Day is today, August 24, and what better way to celebrate than by recognizing the four-legged friends who bring so much joy to our lives? We invited our readers to share their furry babies with the community, and the responses were amazing! Here are the features for Part 2.
Elliott Ellington
Heidi is a Cattle Dog/Boykin Spaniel mix with a love for adventure. She enjoys going on walks and never says no to a pup cup!
Rosco is a Rottweiler mix who lives for the thrill of adventure. He loves riding the side by side and going for a swim!
Marcia Edwards
Meet Marcia’s “T-Man.” We are sure he is a lovable, gentle companion.
Kara Hendrix
Look at those pairs of eyes! Meet Hope and Tiney Mae, sister Australian Shepherds with endless energy. These two love nothing more than chasing each other around and playing fetch!
Katie Smith
Duke and Chloe are an adorable duo with unique individual personalities! Duke, a German Shepherd/Blue Heeler mix, loves barking at birds and herding the children. Chloe, a Dachshund, prefers the simpler pleasures of life—sunbathing and plenty of snuggles.
Patty Darden
This is Morris the Wonder Dog, as shared by Patty. Morris gets his name because they wonder where he came from, what breed he is, and how he ended up on Patty’s doorstep three years ago. But one thing is certain: he stole their hearts from the moment he arrived. Morris loves his cookies, going camping, and barking for the Georgia Bulldogs!
Jessica Manley
Say hello to this sweet pup! Bristol is an 11-year-old Basset Hound with a serious love for snack packs!
This is Skip, an 8-year-old Rat Terrier who’s always on the lookout for squirrels! Chasing those critters is his favorite pastime.
Meet Goose, a 6-year-old Black Labrador Retriever who’s all about going for a swim and playing fetch! Whether he’s in the water or chasing a ball, this silly Goose is always living his best life!
Sonya Turner
What’s cuter than puppies? Kindergarteners dressed as puppies. Mrs. Turner’s class is spreading Paws-itivity at Lamar County Primary School!
Laura Miller
This is Blu, affectionately known as Chonky, the Miller’s sweet Pitbull pup. She absolutely adores giving kisses and running zoomies all around the house—truly an overgrown baby!
Say hello to Oakley, the Border Collie mix and resident nerd of the Miller household. She’s got a quirky personality—barking at anything that moves, herding the other dogs, and even thinking she’s a goat! Oakley has a taste for, well, everything—remotes, earbuds, Kleenex, you name it. And when it’s time to relax, she prefers the top of the sofa over the floor, naturally.
Susan Stanford
NEW PET ALERT! Meet Isabella. Izzy is a purebred French Bulldog who just joined the Stanford family last week, and she’s already stolen hearts. Izzy’s favorite pastimes include sleeping and, for some reason, chewing on Susan’s fingers instead of her toys!
Donna Adcox
Here’s the sweet, yet not so innocent, Rosie—a Dachshund who’s mastered the art of being lazy! She loves taking it easy and loving every minute of it.
