The Lamar County Recreation Department is planning a summer full of activities in June and July to keep children active, engaged, and entertained.
The fun begins in June with Lego Night at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 22, at the Recreation Gymnasium. Later that week, the department will host a Movie Night from 6 to 10 p.m. at the soccer fields. Both events will be held at 118 Academy Drive in Barnesville.
In July, children are invited back to the gym for STEM Night on July 9 at 6 p.m., where they will have the opportunity to engage their minds through hands-on activities.
The department will also offer several sports-related activities in July. Little Trojans Baseball Camp will be held July 13-14 at 601 Gordon Road. On July 11, Baby Goat Basketball Camp will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the gym. The camp will be hosted by student Jules Gotell. Registration is open now through July 10. A Pickleball Camp is scheduled for July 20-21, giving children the chance to learn one of America’s fastest-growing sports.
The summer schedule will wrap up with a Back to School Bash and Kickball in the Park on July 23 at the Gordon Road location.
