Trojans will Host Westside Seminoles for Buggy Days Weekend
The bright lights will return to Thunder Alley this Friday night. After a blowout victory in Macon a few weeks ago over Rutland, the Trojans are looking for their second win over a Bibb County opponent, the Seminoles of Westside High School. This will be the first meeting between Lamar County and Westside.
Westside is 1-3 so far this season, but the competition has been tough. The Seminoles defeated Howard to open the season. They lost to First Baptist Academy of Naples, Florida. Losses to Westover and top-ranked Bowden followed this. They face a difficult schedule full of consecutive ranked opponents, including Bowden, Lamar County, Morgan County, and Callaway. The Seminoles have given up an average of about 45 points per game.
The fourth-ranked Trojans are 3-0 following a 62-7 win over Rutland. Lamar County will begin region competition after the game with Westside. The Trojans will travel to McNair High School in DeKalb County next week. Pending victory, Lamar County will go into region play undefeated with a 4-0 record.
