Lamar Arts to Host “Create-A-Palooza” in July and August

Summer is a great time to slow down and explore new things. Lamar Arts is set to host a series of classes and workshops through their Create-A-Palooza series this month to “unleash your creative potential.” All of the workshops will take place in the Lamar Arts Depot and Gallery located at 101 Plaza Way in downtown Barnesville. Create-A-Palooza will be hosted by various local artists in a variety of media such as drawing, acrylic and watercolor painting, resin, and more. For more information or to sign up for a class, visit during gallery hours on Friday 11-2 pm, Saturday 10-4 pm, or Sunday 2-4 pm.

Tween Art Camp – July 8-9 (9am-Noon)

Instructor: Haley Turner

Description: Learn to draw and create mesmerizing optical illusions using basic art supplies!

Who: 4th to 8th Grade Students (completed in 2023-2024 school year)

Exploring Symmetry Kids Workshop – July 17 (9:30-11am)

Description: Let’s read a silly story and make a symmetrical painting in this fun filled workshop for kids!

Who: K to 3rd Grade Students (completed in 2023-2024 school year)

Resin Shell Art Class – July 20 (1-4pm)

Description: In this class, you’ll learn how to create stunning resin shell art and take home your own beautifully framed 11×14 project.

Who: Ages 13 and up

Painting with Brushes & Boxwoods – July 23 (6-8pm)

Instructor: Becky Patterson

Description: Join us for a relaxing and fun evening of painting an ocean scene. The workshop includes all required supplies and 2 hours of step by step instruction.
