The Kiwanis Club of Barnesville will bring tropics to the Barnesville Civic Center on Friday, August 7, for its annual Reverse Raffle Luau, the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year.
The back patio pre-party will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the reverse raffle drawing at 7 p.m. The evening will include an all-you-can-eat luau-style buffet provided by Ooh La La Catering, adult beverages, games, door prizes, a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle.
Live entertainment will be provided by The B Strings, while TJ the DJ will serve as emcee and keep the evening moving.
Tickets are $150 per couple and include admission for two people, dinner, drinks and one entry into the reverse raffle. Only 200 tickets are available.
During the raffle, all entries will be placed inside a spinning barrel and drawn one at a time. Rather than the first ticket drawn winning, the excitement continues until only one entry remains. The holder of the final ticket will receive the $5,000 grand prize.
Door prizes will also be awarded throughout the drawing. Attendees must be present to win raffle door prizes.
Guests are encouraged to wear their best luau attire. The event is open only to those ages 21 and older, and attendees must bring identification.
The Reverse Raffle Luau has become one of the Kiwanis Club’s most anticipated annual events over the past 13 years. Proceeds support the club’s work with children and community programs throughout Barnesville and Lamar County.
For more than 77 years, the Barnesville Kiwanis Club has focused on serving local youth. The organization supports programs and causes including STAR Student and STAR Teacher, scholarships for graduating seniors, Family Connection, the Boys & Girls Club, the Empty Stocking Fund, local food banks, school athletic programs and Barnesville-Lamar County Parks and Recreation.
